DAF-ARMM ASEC Eugene B. Strong pushed Organic Program in ARMM

The fruitful undertaking of two days ARMM Organic Agriculture strategic planning workshop participated by the provincial coordinators and Info officers from Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-tawi, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Marawi City held at Pagana Native Restaurant, Cotabato City on May 3-4, 2018.
According to newly ARMM organic focal person Akmad A. Abdullah, the conduct of the said activity was to assess the previous activity of the said program like their intervention and established projects, and to formally introduced himself as a new focal person and to know the current condition of organic program.

Regional Assistant secretary Eugene B. strong in his message said that there is a need to strengthen the organic program side by side with the banner commodities especially rice and high value crops to produce competitive, safe and good for health product. He also point out the importance of revisit in the area to find out the real practitioner of organic farming and be recognize and be a model to other farmers.
Monitoring and inventory of projects and facilities in the ground is very important in preparation for the coming of the new government, Asec Strong added.

The activity highlighted with the reporting of the accomplishment by province, 2018 plans and program direction by focal person Mr. Abdullah. Workshop follows by province and sector (organic focal and info group) to make the plan more focus double, attainable and realistic towards the goals and objectives of the program and DAF in general.
Presentation of output by province guided by the senior staff of DAF, Dr. Jalika D. Mangacop and Dr. Kadiguia R. Abdullah, and facilitated by organic staff Noraima and Mohamad Pangato. Rasul Paguital, Mentingan Lipoles, Nesrin Talib and Bai Sittie R. Abdullah Dumato from RAFID. All participants received information kit pertaining to organic farming prepared by rafid.
